moose,

The other day I was watching CSPAN and they had
Clarence Thomas meeting with some high school
students. I found it interesting that he said
he actually wanted to be a Priest, but found there
to be too many racial issues to make it happen,
and instead went to law school. Isn't it a sign
that we do have an equitable government because
he managed to become a Supreme Court Justice. I
think he is really a person to admire. I hope
he does become Chief Justice. Bush's cabinet is
already looking good with Powell as Sec of State,
and Condoleeza Rice as NSA advisor which may
become a full cabinet post. The best thing about
them is that they are fully competent for the
positions and both African descent. Clinton
appointed people of color because of their color,
not because of their competence. It lead to many
problems for him. If you look at Mike Espy, Bill
Richardson, and Ron Brown they were all given the
nod because of their race, not their ability. The
resulting problems came as no surprise to me.
