Greenspan's main responsibility is to protect the value of the U.S. dollar..

according to what I have read... the fed has a fair value of around 1100 on the SPX. S&P 500,,,, in other words...according to their models,, the markets are still drastically overvalued...

The fed was talking down the market after Greenspan spoke a few weeks ago and the market rocketed 200 points..

they probably don't want us to drop, but they also don't want us to rally significantly from here...

Don't count on the fed to feel obligated to bail out the bubblonians.... remember "irrational exuberance" that was 1996, and the compounded return on the NAZ since then has been tremendous even at current levels..
