As money evaporates the fury of the next rise is mitigated by lack of actual fuel (investment capital)

Mutual fund outflows don't evaporate. They typically go into fixed income investments (e.g., money market funds). They will serve as "fuel" to power future rallys as people aren't happy with 4% returns on their money. Other sources of "fuel" include massive IRA contributions which continue unabated AND recent substantial liquidity added by the Fed to the banking system (remember Y2K money pump last year?).
