what about write-in ballots? a friend mentioned yesterday that obviously on a machine count, no write in ballots are ever accounted for. have not heard anyone mention this yet however. don't they need hand counts to review the write in votes? write-in votes are legal votes. otherwise, how else are they counted? not at all it seems.
