Ken, I read this and your other reply to an earlier post of mine. I think there is an important distinction to draw between disagrement, even sharp disagreement on issues, and vilifying your opponent, along the lines of rabid Righties of the 80s and today. Today's Rush, for example, is basically a James Watt ("There are Americans and then there are Democrats) with a much slower metabolism. This ilk seeks not to defeat those who disagree with them with superior ideas but vilify them as godless/unamerican/commie/<insert self-gratifying jingoistic label here>. This I find most harmful.
