Oh man, Ish. Have you ever gotten lost in the woods!!!!??? I just got in from a harrowing experience.

I went out in the rain to still hunt. Upon reaching the field I discovered my compass was not in my pack, where it always is (dumb mistake #1). One of my kids had hung the thing on the Christmas tree! I had left my GPS (Dumb mistake #2) It was removed from my pack by the same son!

I decided to walk into the woods anyway ( a new, unfamiliar place - Dumb mistake #3). I stay in until dark, as usual. But a very thick fog came in and I could hardly see a thing. Then my flashlight died. (Batteries had been exhausted by the same ^#&$*$ son!!)

I ambled around in the dark for ages. I finally heard a creek to my left and followed it to God Only Knows Where. I finally got to a road and to make a long story short, got to my car.

That did not feel very good. Needless to say, I got skunked again. Time for bed.
