"Was the last sentence your opinion, or was it discussed by TWX or elsewhere?"

Frank- It was my opinion. It seems it's the way to go if more bandwidth is needed to put more subs on VOD. I counted the channels. There are 38 channels devoted to taking up bandwidth while streaming the same movie each half hour(on a different channel). In other words, they are playing only about 6 movies but take up 38 channels in doing so! What a waste of bandwidth. What worse is those six movies are already part of the VOD choices.

But ftth's point is those 6 movies, taking up 38 channels are 'broadcast' video. So it's available to ALL digital subs at once. But my feeling is it's so inconvenient, why even bother broadcasting them. I'm guessing VOD revenues will swamp broadcast pay revenues.

Also, there are about 60 channels that say NBA(as in National Basketball Association). Nothing is on them, so I don't know if they are available or what? My point is I think there are a lot more channels doing nothing that could be used to deliver VOD to more subs.

I'm still a little fuzzy on bandwidth limiting the number of VOD subs on a system. I'm guessing, per ftth's notes, the more broadcast channels converted over to VOD, the more subs can be put on the system. I'll have to keep an eye out for the channels I mention above. To see if they start to disappear as VOD is rolled out to more subs. -MikeM(From Florida)
