Yes, I think you are right about that and the more I think about it it seems that 1XEV or whatever it's called has garnered more interest than 3X. Does 3X have any capacity or speed advantages over 1XEV (or whatever the latest spec is called)? If not, can we assume 1XEV will be the primary CDMA2000 standard?
