Gore might well have a higher IQ, but he also thinks because he is smart that he is smarter then the American people and should be able to tell them what to do for their own good.


Tim, I don't think that Gore holds the positions that he does because he thinks he's smarter than the American people, although I can see how it might appear that way. I think that he simply believes that government is the answer, not the problem, and that big government programs are inherently fairer and more efficient than everyone deciding and fending for himself. I say that not because I have any particular insight into Gore but because I know lots of people who hold that view. They see a problem and automatically think that the government should fix it. I don't think an outsized opinion of his intelligence has anything to do with it.
