Paul: tile based rendering which is much more efficient and would reduce overdraw than the current traditional rendering.

I'm well aware of the benefits of tile-based rendering and have been a vocal proponent of it for the past couple of years. I wasn't, however, aware that this was what GigaPixel was using.

NVIDIA have long been publicly dissing tile-based rendering, but then it's fairly common for high-tech companies to diss a competitors solution ;). Although I would still classify myself as an NVIDIA fan, I kinda hope they don't make good use of GigaPixel's technology. When a company becomes too dominant (although it usually happens with good reason!), the consumer rarely benefits. This is as much true in graphics as it is in microprocessors.
