i do not understand knocking the military here. the military has had no close role at the moment in the current election...yet the military does guarantee the entire process.

the US Army got us free originally. they have continued to preserve our freedoms for 225 years...the longest run of a democracy in the history of mankind. but the cost has been very high.

do you really discount the significance of the
US military's role in preserving our way of life?

here are two quick examples of incredible and honorable military contributions to US civilian power and leadership...washington and eisenhower...both were incredible military leaders who preserved our way of life on the battlefield...then they were recycled and went on to continue to do an awesome post-war job as president.

jesse jackson's latest call for florida demonstrations will not make us free, keep us free or make us stronger....even gore recognized that.

the code of honor and ethics that our military officers vow to uphold is extraordinary. no government civilians are bound to such a code of honor...that alone, may be reason enough to select successful military leaders to important political positions.
the oath of office that all of our soldiers and officers take to protect and defend the constitution is nearly identical to the president's.

we need to always honor our soldiers, dead and alive, our entire way of life is pickled in their blood.
