Politcal options in California

Douglas -

Got a call last night from a political polling firm, asking about possible candidates for California Secretary of State.
Seemed to mention Steve Pease (sp?) a lot.

California Secretary of State is a frequent stepping stone to the Governor's mansion.

They were also asking questions exploring for possible
issues. Main one was power.

they asked about 4 options -
(I am NOT making these up !)

One was passing the higher costs on to consumers even if it meant doubling their power bill.

Another option was stopping the higher cost from being passed on even if it meant the utilities going bankrupt.

Another option was the state taking over ownership of the power plants.

The other option was having the state loan $2 billion to cities so they could set up their own power systems.

Here come the fruitcake solutions to the power problem....
