This manner of settlement is common in civil law. It allows for the SEC or whomever is filing to get a result more swiftly and less costly. I am sure you have heard of companies paying huge sums without admitting guilt. Just another settlement agreement. It serves it's purpose.

I think you will find the collective fines of Vogel et al will be substantial. However, that is not the point. Character or the lack of the same is the issue.

As far as Tony is concerned, I have no respect for him at all. With people like Tony, most of the trading seems a result of his recommendations, not something that would happen without them. I don't agree with SI allowing a person running a business through the stock threads. It seems to be so or at least an extension and I would be pleased to see him and his types leave SI.
