Yes, academia is very contaminated, although I have seen some of these faults reach beyond into the writings of management consultants, technology pundits, and others who do not have the post- modern rationale for writing so poorly. The strategy is pretty easy to grasp: surround rather thin or banal ideas with as much over- wrought prose as possible to give the allusion of profundity.

The underlying ideas of the academic radicals are all basically the same: mainstream discourse is about maintaining power and privilege for the ruling elite, and gate- keeping for admission. Through subversion of the mainstream, we reveal its hegemoniacal assumptions, and help to undermine its power to manufacture consent. Except, of course, that no one reads this crap except the "choir".......
