Steve - current market for Intel-based systems larger than 8-way is quite small - in the hundreds per year. I don't expect that market to take off until McKinley (the "real" IA64 chip). The early units are intended to seed development of applications to exploit the larger architecture. Those development cycles (both commercial and "in-house") are 12 to 18 months, so decent volume down te road depends on getting some machines into the hands of leading edge developers.

But keep in mind that sales of UE10000 were in the hundreds per year for the first few years of production.
