Speculation was not exactly what I was aiming at. Had more to do the with the human qualities of greed and fear. And the follow the herd mentality. I remember very well certain "experts" in the late 70's stating with absolute certainty that low interest rates were a thing of the past, natural resources would be exhausted shortly and things of a similar nature. It is a rare quality in us to have vision past tomorrow and to see that whatever direction we are now headed may turn on a dime.
