I am sure you are right. One of the Delmarva beaches is supposed by "gay", in the sense that a lot of them gravitate to it. It is also supposed to be very family oriented, at one and the same time, and less prone to excessive partying then some others. Go figure.

I had a strange experience last year. My anniversary is in February, and I had booked a couple of nights at a Hilton off of Dupont Circle, a very nice area in Washington. I had reservations to a restaurant reputed to be the best in town (probably true, in my experience), within walking distance, and we were a block from the Phillips Collection, of which we are members, to do a little museum browsing one afternoon. But I had had some trouble with theater tickets, and ended up booking a semi- professional, small theater production of "Little Shop Of Horrors". I like the show, and such companies often make up in spirit what they lack in polish, so I was content. Well, when we went to the theater, I discovered that it was production sponsored by the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington. All of the female roles were in drag. That, in itself, did not disconcert me, and, in fact, the principal "female" lead was quite talented, and perhaps more affecting then Ellen Green had been in the movie. But the audience was peculiarly bereft of straight couples. I think there was one more, plus a couple of women likely to have been either lesbian or the sort who prefer gay men as companions. As a straight middle- aged man out with his wife for their 17th anniversary, I felt somewhat strange, perhaps a bit awkward, although I enjoyed the show, as did my wife........
