Clinton is still incredibly popular, Apollo. If Gore had allowed Slick Willie to campaign for him, he would have waltzed in. Heck, he might have even carried Tennessee.
Bill Clinton is an amazing individual. Intelligent, folksy, charming, easy to listen to. He has a lot of talent. And he co-opted the Republican agenda in the middle 90s, after the Republicans took Congress in '94, and he was forced to move to the center, himself. And this was a brilliant thing to do, tactically. Because of it, legislation got passed, including China, Free Trade, Welfare Reform, more police to fight crime, balanced budgets.......remember when these were primarily Conservative themes? He showed himself to be flexible, and adaptable. Unfortunately, his values and integrity were also changeable. I credit him for both the good and the bad.
With GW, I give him no credit, good or bad, because he hasn't even served one day yet as President. I am neutral and open minded as to how he will do. I am bewildered how some can assail him, or bluntly question his intelligence, when they don't know him, have never spoken with him, have never worked with him, and he hasn't served yet one day .
Id quoted some old writings from Nostradamus, the more lucid of which was about those who come from the land of the Carpet.
Here's another old preaching....."Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".....I forget where this one comes from, but I think it rather old and wizened.
