The republicans and the media have sanctified Ronnie because they got a LOT richer due to the "corporate-friendly" policies of his administration, the same policies which made the S&L debacle possible.
The winners write history, so he's called "The Great Communicator" in textbooks already. He'll always be "The Father of the Homeless" as far as I'm concerned.
