I was referring to 100 or 150 points in advance of their announcement. If the market gets what it wants 150 points is chicken feathers. If the fed cuts rates tomorrow (not likely) we ramp hard. Options premiums will skyrocket so if you want to make a bet, you need to do it before the announcement.

Cautious traders can just wait until they hear the announcement and then get long if they want to. Little guys like you and me can move quick and catch some upside. But that isn't where the serious money can be made. The serious money will be made having the guts to step in front of this freight train at the right moment before the Fed makes it's move.

No risk, no reward. That's why I think it's best to find some cheap out of the money calls so you don't miss out on a big ramp. If it doesn't work out you still have some ammo to shoot with for later.
