McNabb Brothers: What will Fed do tomorrow?

My guess is that they will NOT decrease interest rates. I think most of Wall St. feels similarly. More important, IMHO, is the statement and guidance they give the investing community going forward. If they merely change their bias to "neutral", I think the markets will be quite rocky and may well decline further through most of January. If, however, they acknowledge the risk of recession outweighing the risk of inflation and change their bias to future interest rate cuts, that may well be the spark the market needs to stabilize and move upward (albeit slowly).
