From the announcement it sounds like the ZIF capabilities will be available for all technologies including GSM. Why would Qualcomm license its ZIF technology to those in the GSM or TDMA camp? If it works, it confers "an estimated 20 percent improvement in talk times for CDMA handsets." Why extend those types of benefits to those on non-CDMA2000 technology? Beyond a short term benefit of some modest license revenue from the dark siders, Qualcomm should want to reserve such technology for its CDMA2000 value chain. saukriver
