Yeah, I heard of DDR. It is the technology that is reckoned to be about as fast as RDRAM (theoretically but is unable to efficiently use more than 65% of its available bandwidth as opposed to RDRAM's 95%), but it can only currently be produced in single channel mode (and that with noise probs) due to excessive noise and crosstalk between multiple channels.

Even intel has just put back their DDR P4 chipset until 2002 (read never, they are just giving lip service to DDR.). AMD has recently been hiring Rambus engineers and are currently suffering embarrassing product recalls for their DDR chipset which is the ONLY DDR PC chipset in "production". Wonder why that might be?

It is also a technology covered by Rambus IP, as witnessed by the licence deals they have struck for royalties on DDR with the manufacturers accounting for more than 50% of worldwide DRAM production.

If you know different, let me know.
