No. I only made that point because the democrats spend so much time selling themselves as being pro-minority when they are really for a specific agenda. If we had a wave of immigrants that just happened to be conservative - but was being treated like many immigrants have in the past - they would do little to help them advance.

I think there's a small difference. No doubt republicans play politics with appointments also, but IMHO there is less inconsistency between their actions and stated values on this issue. The pubs lean and act more towards merit and letting the chips fall where they may.

I agree completely with all your other points.
