Sector Announces its Global Tech Expo, "The First International High-Tech Recruiting Event" Using Videoconferencing Technology
IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 19, 2000--Global Tech Expos, a subsidiary of Sector Communications Inc. (OTCBB:SECT) announced that its First International High-Tech Recruiting Event will be held at the San Jose Shark Tank Arena on Jan. 22 and 23, 2000.
Global Tech Expos is employing high-speed videoconferencing technology made available through its venture partner, Talk Visual Corp. (OTCBB:TVCP), to enable companies to interview candidates from around the world during its information technology (IT) recruitment exposition, forecast to have 200 companies and 6,000-8,000 prequalified applicants attending either in-person or through international videocall locations.
Director Jeremy Schuster said the two-day IT recruitment event will be linked to eight international videocall sites which will enable employers to recruit overseas talent and conduct live, "face to face" interviews while participating in the Silicon Valley exposition. Schuster said, "Global Tech Expos is teamed with TVCP to innovate, using technology to revolutionize the recruitment industry."
Marquee clients including Mitsubishi Electronics, Philips Semiconductors and Nextel have already signed on for exposition space in an attempt to fill their growing list of open positions in information technology and other high-tech disciplines. Philips Semiconductors serves as one of the official sponsors of the first-of-a-series Shark Tank events.
Global Tech Expos has already slated eight expositions in Silicon Valley for year 2001 and is presently finalizing expansion plans. Additionally, Global Tech Expos is partnering with a leading firm to assist companies with the cumbersome relocation and immigration processes typically associated with international hires.
Talk Visual Corp. (OTCBB:TVCP), a Miami-based telecommunications firm, recently signed an exclusive agreement with Global Tech Expos to provide videocall locations from its multimillion-dollar global network, supply its TV225 Videophones, and perform a host of related telecom services including ISDN line setup, long-distance, local exchange carrier services, telecom management, and desktop videoconferencing.
Talk Visual's president and CEO Gene Rosov stated, "We are very excited about our exclusive service agreement with Global Tech Expos. We believe that videoconferencing will significantly enhance the Job Recruitment Industry, and we are hopeful that our plans with Global Tech will herald a new era in visual communications."
Talk Visual representatives believe high-tech job recruitment is a perfect application for the videoconferencing equipment the Company provides; the cost of one flight for a company to interview a potential overseas candidate outweighs the minimal cost to exhibit at a Global Tech Expo, where prime international exhibitor packages include a TVCP TV225 Videophone.
Global Tech Expos' activity in the job recruitment market was made public during the week of Nov. 13, 2000, when it exhibited at COMDEX (the largest technology trade show in the world) and was inundated with companies wanting to exhibit and exploit the foreign-country link facilitated by its joint venture with TVCP.
