Carl,

The graphics guys have been buying large quantities of DDR for half a year now, with the most common ddr graphics cards populated with 64MB, the demand is quite significant and in MBs, probably outsells the rdram on the few rambus MBs that are out there today.

Initially, the DDR stick makers for CPUs will sell them at whatever price they can get, they have a captive market for a while. But I'm not saying anything people don't already know.

I thought that rmbs makes more royalty money from DDR sales than rdr sales. If so, why are they suing poor old nvda? :(. They should be encouraging sales of DDR, not trying to destroy it. With the rumour of 256bit-DDR support on nvda's next graphics chip, the mem BW on these guys are about to double again. This time to 12.8GB/s.
