Funny thing is....I don't know anyone who voted for Bush because of a possible tax cut....polls show most people want us to pay off the deficit 1st...why Bush felt compelled to keep this front and center for the past 2 years is beyond me..... With the surplus going (way) down, the point is likely mute...given the election fiasco, Bush also has no mandate for a big tax cut anyway...if he is honest with the American people (and himself), he'll scale it back dramatically.... The American people elected a moderate (not Bush or Gore)..I hope W. remembers that...
