surely not everyone is...there was not much put buying in evidence. complacency continues to rule, as UFB as that sounds. i know about the positive NYSE a/d. if it does that 3 days in a row while the indices keep falling, it actually means something. one day's not enough however.
i noticed that certain cyc sub sectors have constructive looking charts, paper/forestry, chemicals, base metals...but not all. steels and autos still look like death warmed over. anyway, the good looking charts will attract money, if for no other good reason. while it's true that cyclicals tend to be early beneficiaries of rate cuts, pricing power is nowhere in sight (yet) and depending on the depth of the downturn it may be a bit too early to look beyond same. we could just as well buy tech stocks then, after all we've just found out they're cyclical too, no? -g-
