the confluence of bad news is reaching a crescendo. people are just starting to get high energy bills, lay-offs are starting, earnings disappointments are flourishing, the nas is in an out of control tailspin, a lot of people have been seriously hurt by this market decline, the extent of which, for most folks, wouldn't be realized until they see year-end fund and stock statements. slowly, the bullish enthusiasm is being squashed. yet i still find myself reaching for high pe, hyper growth stocks and pass up the nice charts and strong values that have been the only solace so far this year. it ain't over yet, i'm afraid. larry
