The "undervotes" were not out of line with other counties. Further, Palm Beach County is one of the wealthiest jurisdictions in the country, I'm told, so don't start playing that popular "race/class warfare" theme. Doesn't fly here. Besides, differences between counties could also be explained by the fact that more educated and affluent voters would be more likely to have researched and chosen a candidate instead of leaving that race up to others. There could be other reasons, too. There was absolutely no proof that the voting machines didn't work as designed. At trial, Boies failed miserably in his attempt. And, if I'm not mistaken, Broward had considered replacing its voting machines several years ago, and some relative of Gunzenberger's, perhaps her husband, was a consultant and opposed it.
