Mephisto has a heart murmur. In cats, it is a serious matter as one of the arteries in his heart thickens, it cuts off circulation and can lead to stroke or heart attack.

We waited a little too long to take him to the critical care center where he is treated by Doctor in Veterinary Medicine who has a speciality in pulmonary medicine.

I wasn't able to go today because I had my own doctor's appointment. Maybe that was a good thing. The bill was less! (gg).

M has to take prescription medication that regulates his heart beat. The doctor tells my husband that M will be okay but they need to increase the dose and when they have finished M's condition will be stabilized. We have to take him back in a month.

The doctor told me that a year ago, but when I saw him last month, he reminded me that M was on a low dose and they would eventually have to increase the medication. I don't remember the conversation, but it doesn't matter.

M's doc has an excellent reputation. I've been told that it is harder to get into vet school than into medical school so we feel very comfortable with M's doctor who is a real M.D plus he is trained as pulmonary specialist and a surgeon.

So I try to be calm.

Thanks for the note. I saw the cutest little dog this afternoon in the wine store. It was called a cockerpoo, a cross between a cocker spaniel and a poodle. I think it would be a nice dog for my mom. The lady who owned it said that the breed hadn't been registered as yet.

Cheers,

Mephisto
