Actually, Paul is partly right! The main reason companies split their
shares is so that people can buy in ROUND lots instead of ODD lots.
However, having said that, stock splits are mainly positive.
Companies whose shares are going thru' the roof tend to split their
shares!!
Remember, stock splits do not happen on the way down!
(Unless off course, REVERSE splits!)
BTW, I LOVE stock splits. When a young fast growing company begins to split shares
it usually means watch out above!!
I bot more MANU when they announced their split. Also, DELL. Also PRST :-))
Also note that IBM did not split their shares on their way to $40.
They did this on their way to an ALL TIME HIGH!
Maybe Carlton Lutts is right! (I used to be quite sceptical of his
*constant* PRST table pounding!!)
Maybe PRST is shaping up to be the stock of the decade...
