after all it must be pretty satisfying to the ego to think it is alone and supreme Wow. It just dawned on me - what a great biological justification to seek an outside source of omnipotence: the one you lost when you are born!! What a rude surprise it must be to come from a sea of warmth where you have no wants or needs to a world where you must work just to stay alive. The sense of powerlessness! Has anyone ever offered this as a possible explanation? If not it has powerful ramifications.
