The positive aspect is that if you believe that Greenspan & Co. have any snap, then today's move is really a win-win. It shows, if they really know what they're doing, that their tapping on the brakes has provided a soft landing. In the end, I think that the Market would really have had a manic-depressive reaction to a cut today, since a cut (without any prior warning) would've indicated that they had overdone it with the hikes.
