>>many bulls will be put out of the market on this hard down move in the next few weeks...margin will knock many out of the game<<

That would suggest once a bull always a bull -- once a bear---bla bla bla.......

That's not how it works for many these days.

Many more people are trading the market, as opposed to investing in it, and playing both sides..even the MFUNDS are trading more aggressively .You yourself indicate you are a scalper... I am a position trader....I will cut losses quickly or let gains ride till I figure the trade is exausted.

No doubt the die hards will or have already taken a hard hit, just as the HO's took it for quite a few years in the past.

Never underestimate human greed. When this market begins to turn around in the next few months there will be a rush to get in " at the bottom of the next up-wave into 2004 " , which should see the NASDAQ hit 4500 under different leadership and DOW 14000.

Those who are " in it for the long run " through MFUNDS are not cashing in their chips on this downturn. Those getting their RRSP's and 401's will be eager to put it to work in what looks like a " great opportunity ".The only negative out-flow I see is the foreign funds , which will quickly come back if/when things improve.

They will improve , but unless there is divine intervention between now and a rate cut, margin calls and tax loss selling will weigh in for the remainder of the year, and the early part of earnings season has not been well lately.

I believe there will be surprises to the upside in some sectors that have lowered guidance , as well I believe the SEMI's will recover on the backs of that...etc..etc...

I've enjoyed reading your analysis and think you have a good handle on things shorter term, which should work well for your trading style, and you have proven to be more right
than wrong on that basis.Hats off to you.

Merry Christmas.

KC

PS: Hard to say where THE bottom will be.I think we hit it THIS year ..not next...but good trading ops abound.
