Dr. Greenie must be taking a perverse pleasure in debunking those who insisted that technology companies aren't interest-rate sensitive. The CNBS pundit schmucks, who for the past few years so arrogantly touted the venture capitalists and NASDAQ as providing all the capital anybody ever needed, now look like a bunch of Econ. 101 flunkies. Like it or not, though, Dr. Greenie helped Bush win the presidency. He raised the specter of inflation and economic downturn and started putting on the brakes early, curtailing Gore's prosperity pitch. The problem is he had to wait until after the election to sound the "all clear" signal.
