Even the SEC chairman can't take anymore. <<SEC Chairman Levitt to Announce Resignation at 11:30 am

Washington , Dec. 20 (Bloomberg) -- Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Arthur Levitt, the longest-serving SEC chairman, will announce his resignation at 11:30 a.m. New York time, people knowledgeable about the announcement said.

It's isn't clear when Levitt, 69, a Democrat appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1993, will leave the government, the three people said.

The SEC announced a press conference at 11:30 and said it was about Levitt's tenure.

Levitt is to be replaced on an interim basis, possibly by Laura Unger, the only Republican on the commission, the people familiar with the situation said.

His replacement, for a five-year term, will be picked by President-elect George Bush.

Washington lawyer James R. Doty, a law partner of Bush campaign official James Baker, is among several candidates being considered as a candidate for the job.>>

Wow, W is going to shape our lives in ways we haven't thought of yet. It's frighting to see him bob up and down smirking, that bothers me.
