First post on this thread. I have lurked here for a while.

This is what I see is happening with the market.

Most people have huge capital gains from the Oct.-Mar. rally on stocks that were sold this tax year.

They then reinvested that capital into other stocks and got caught in the market crash.

So they have a huge tax bill to pay and no money to pay it with. The Fed. yesterday removed all hope of a late DEC. rally.

Which in turn forced anyone still on the fence to tax sell. They can`t take the chance of holding into the new year to recover their losses. They now must sell.

I think this more than anything else is what will drive the markets until the new year.

Will these people wait to rebuy until the new year? Or will they buy other stocks that are beaten down. Rolling the money right back into the market but keeping their tax loss.

I think today might be the bottom of the market if these people do roll their money for tax purposes. Huge volume and no movement as money is rolled from one stock to another.
