what's wrong with catch-22's Ron? They do occur naturally, and human fallibility ensures that we get into situations where they do...the value of markets and money are nothing more than the manifestations of human psychology at the moment..and what do people do when there seems no safe or good solution, and no way out? Well, it seems they like to flounder around and try this and that (like buying banks, brokers, and lenders), then, when proven wrong again and frustrated...well, I hope they start buying gold :)
Sorry to get philosophical, but things just ARE...everything you see, including yourself, are just tiny "strings" oscillating in many dimensions...nothing to ensure things will be good, or will work out, or your "vision" of profitable, altruistic, productive companies making the world a better place...nothing has changed since the first humans traded meat for wood or whatever, except the goods they make, use, and trade...people will never change and it is overly naive and optimistic, IMO, to assume that the systems people build will work...we've been very lucky in this country for a long time, that is the anomaly, not what is happening now. |
