md1, do you really think this is so? If we look back at last spring, when the NAZ crashed, MO's PE started expanding and did not stop even though the NAZ rallied in the summer. Also, MO has continued to rise even with the sour Engle news, election uncertainty, and recession worries. I get the feeling it is trading in its own world, purely on valuation. I agree it is a safe harbor (to coin a phrase), but I'm not sure that is the major force at work here. Do you have a way we could measure this?
