Glenn,

Good post. I agree; if you know *exactly* what you want, why drive to the store?
However, this applies to everything.
I would buy a diamond online if I knew that I would not be cheated. If the jeweler was reputable and it comes with the GIA certificate and I knew that I wanted a 1 carat brilliant round H,VS2, I could order it online from a reputable place like Fortunoff (or even David Jewelers)
I actually bought a diamond 2 years ago. At that time, I had NO IDEA what to buy. (BTW, THANKS FOR YOUR HELP AT THAT TIME)
I know I paid more than I should have paid, but I knew that Fortunoff would not sell me glass and call it a diamond.

Happy holidays & let's hope that 2001 will be much more profitable :-((

BTW: I am doing most of my shopping online @ shopping.yahoo.com
