This may be a news to you, but we don't have a defense system. All it takes is one missile aimed at NYC, and I am probably dead. The fact that US can launch a retaliatory strike will not do me any good.

Then you better hope the one missle that India or Pakistan has aimed at the US is not destined for NYC. None of the countries you mentioned, however, have the capability to do a major strike against the US.

And as for a defense system, we have missles that knock other missles out of the air. We are defended although maybe not NYC. <g>

The intent of the star wars project was not a defense system but rather to bring global paranoia and hysteria to new highs...the last thing this world needs.
