Oil prices continue to be high, despite easing off a little.

I think you are wrong about MSFT, but it is speculative on both our parts.

The Fed signaled that it might ease interest rates a little in the future. It has not totally changed course.

The economic growth rate, though lower than a year ago, is still quite high. The labor market, though softening, remains tight. Clearly, the market is volatile, but we do not yet know what is happening with the economic fundamentals. Even in '87, it turned out that the market crashed, but the economy didn't......
