Interesting discussion about the staff diversity at MSFT, but I don't see the big controversy. The US economy continues to grow (at least it was). The number of US workers continues to decline as the population ages.

Ta da, that means US corporations need to find workers from outside the US. They are actively recruting from many countries, like India. They are encouraging education and technology training in these countries in hopes of getting some of them to move to the US and work for us.

It's necessary. MSFT needs people. They plan to grow their staff size considerably over the next 10 years. Some will come from within the US and some will come from outside the US.

Just because you don't get hired for one job at MSFT doesn't mean you aren't a perfect fit for another job at MSFT. They have a brutal interview process where you go from one person to the next throughout the department. If one person says NO, you are usually done for. Keep an eye open for other opportunities at MSFT, there should continue to be openings, IMO.
