Poet, I would not let these exchanges with Frank bother you

Like I have said before, UF hosts a great thread - one that I have certainly gained from - but he can be unctuous when he gets on his high horse and quite disingenuous to boot!

As you and others have pointed out, your misstatement of the so-called ballast stocks is inconsequential compared to the V-man's antics. Leave aside the inaccurate calls that we have all talked about, here is one that takes the cake:

Here is the chronology, excerpts from the posts and the relevant links, lest I be accused of poor form:

EXPECT THE LOW ON THE NAZ FOR THE NEXT 6 MONTHS TO OCCUR BETWEEN 12:00 and 1:00 PM THIS AFTERNOON.........Dealer and I sold at open this morning and will buy back sometime in noon hour

Not stated but presumably implied since these were going to be the lows for the next 6 months, the stocks that were to be bought would be held, right?

Message 15040910

Thereafter, just in case the above was not apparent to the meanest intelligence, we have this link:

do you believe in miracles? Like I said, the bottom is pretty well in for the next six months and we begin up with the Fed tomorrow

Message 15043382

But then we know that some of the porchers are not too enamored with angels so the V-man decides to provide added emphasis:

THIS MARKET BEGINS LOOKING AHEAD TOMORROW. Short this market and people will lose their a---

Message 15043436

Now the angels have spoken and the V-man can offer more specific guidance:

Message 15045334

Message 15047377

Given all that he posted, he is set to make a killing as the market moves skywards - after all, he bought all of those quality stocks at rock bottom prices. Such is his confidence, that after posting that last link late morning, guess what he does while the market is in freefall: Laughing tonight after Dealer called and woke me and told me about after hours. Bought EXTR and NEWPORT

Message 15051132

A man after my heart; nothing fazes him - even when the market is breaking down, he is laughing away!

But just a minute - no wonder he is laughing away: BTW - had gotten out of everything but RMBS before Fed release but must admit, got back in NEWP at 85 so not completely unscathed

Hmmmm! Now what is one to make of this? All those poor suckers who were urged to take this once in a lifetime opportunity while the great prognosticator exited everything except RMBS before the Fed meeting! Not a word from him about this grand exit from long positions on the thread when it happened, of course!

A confused and doubting jmac asks him about this: You were out of everything before the fed annonced. Weren't you the one that kept saying, each day, that the next day was the day we start going up. How about how close we will get to 4000 by 12/31/00. Give me a break. What's that saying, you can fool some of the people some of the time, or something like that. "you were out of everything" but expecting 4000 or so in the next 2 weeks. Increible Volt. Just incredible.

Message 15051276

The Great Prognosticator is not used to the minions questioning him in this manner - how dare any one do such a thing so here's his response:

Message 15051333

Another rabble-rouser appears:

Message 15051398

Well enough of this rebellious behaviour thinks the V-man - Koolaid time, says he which of course is the modern version of "let them eat cake":

Message 15051426

Now this should be specific enough for even the unctuous Uncle Frank to get his dander up and chastise Voltaire for his poor form!

"Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive"
