Absolutely brilliant and so freaking obvious in hindsight. Never occurred to me. I forget the price of the non-wire kind but if it ain't too high it would save a lot of labor burying the wire. 'Course I'd probably have to bury the power cables but that could be a straight shot and therefore much shorter. Plus put them in a weather protected enclosure. I'd probably ultimately want more than 2 though. I have 5 acres and it would be a shame to limit his range on it. I'll have to lay some circles over the lot plans and finger it out.
