Greenspan gave no indication that he was going to cut rates. Bush has been pushing the tax cut for some time any recent statements he made were consistant with that not a sudden surprise for Greenspan and the rest of the Fed board. Tim, Apparently, Bush has not taken Econ. 101 because if he had he would realize the tax cut he is proposing would not help the problem. But the truth he probably knows his proposed tax cut will not help the problem but rather its a sop to make us like him and get over the division from the election. Its utter bull. ted
