Charles,

"Gotta love the irony in this:"

Why doesn't MSFT just purchase a per CPU license to use AOL software with Windows? Better yet, how about a cross-licensing agreement which is beneficial to both sides: AOL bundles AIM with Netscape and MSFT bundles Netscape with Windows!

A crazy alternative might be for Microsoft to write a better Instant Messaging app and simply innovate their way out of this. Or is Microsoft admitting that it is possible to leverage one piece of dominant software to exclude competition in another piece of software?

Cheers,

Norm
