This stock really intrigues me. In 1997 I bought several hundred shares of another company that was profitable and growing well. That company also was threatened with extinction by Cisco according to the press. In the '98 scare the company's price dropped to 25% of my purchase price. I sold in Spring of 1999 at a 38% profit and considered myself lucky.

That company was Checkpoint (CHKP) and it went on to go up by about 1000% and split several times. I knew the company was a winner but allowed the '98 market crash to lower my expectations. Today I look at F5 and wonder if this company could be another example of this syndrome. I think the risk of scooping up a few hundred shares at these prices is minimal.
