I would tend to steer towards Bangkok Bank for a direct Thailand play as they are starting to look towards increasing Asian expansion and probably are a safer bet than Siam Cement and will always have a multiple premium to a cyclical company to Siam Cement. You can make a very generous return looking at a 2-3 yr time frame for these banks as any economic turn would signal a rapid price and multiple expansion for these banks which are still growing. Also keep in mind that eventually these ADR's in Bangkok Bank will move towards the NYSE, and the odds for the same happening to SCC are much less (although that doesn't matter much to someone in Germany, I guess <g>).
